New Jersey Devils (6-5-1) at Montreal Canadiens (7-2-3), 7 p.m.
(Sports Network) - The Montreal Canadiens will aim for their first three-game
winning streak of the season when they host the New Jersey Devils tonight at
the Bell Centre.
The Canadiens defeated Ottawa at home on Halloween night and then posted a
victory at Carolina on Thursday.
The Habs blanked the defending Stanley Cup champion Hurricanes, 4-0. Cristobal
Huet made 31 saves for his 12th career shutout and Montreal scored three
special teams goals at RBC Center.
Michael Komisarek and Tomas Plekanec both notched short-handed tallies while
Saku Koivu scored on the power play for Montreal, which has earned at least
one point in each of its last four games (3-0-1).
Mike Johnson also scored in the victory.
The Devils are coming off Thursday's home loss to the Islanders. Jason Blake
tallied a goal and two assists to lift New York past New Jersey, 5-2.
Travis Zajac and Zach Parise scored while Martin Brodeur stopped 22-of-27
shots for the Devils, who had a two-game winning streak snapped.
Thursday's loss spoiled the Devils' bid to go a perfect 3-0 on their
homestand. New Jersey is just 2-4-0 on the road this season.
The Devils swept four meetings against Montreal last season.
