(Sports Network) - The Colorado Avalanche will aim for their third consecutive
victory tonight when they visit the St. Louis Blues at Scottrade Center.
The Avalanche beat Minnesota, 4-1, at home on Sunday and then earned a 5-3
victory in Columbus on Wednesday. Jose Theodore stopped 41 shots, including 19
in the final period, to lead the Avalanche to the latest win.
Brad Richardson posted a goal and an assist for the Avalanche. Joe Sakic,
Wojtek Wolski, Brett McLean and Mark Rycroft each added a goal for Colorado.
The Avs are trying to win three straight games for the first time since March
7-12 of last season.
The Blues have dropped three consecutive contests and the latest setback came
Wednesday in Dallas. Eric Lindros tallied two goals and Marty Turco stopped 23
shots as the Stars knocked off St. Louis, 4-1, at American Airlines Center.
Keith Tkachuk scored the lone goal and Curtis Sanford stopped 27 shots for the
Blues, who have also dropped five of six.
Tkachuk has posted a goal in two straight games and has notched four points
(2g, 2a) in that same span.
Tonight is the opener of a three-game homestand for the Blues, who are 2-2-2
as the host club this season.
This is the first meeting of the year between the Avalanche and Blues.
Colorado won all four encounters during the 2005-06 campaign.
