Los Angeles Kings (30-18-3) at San Jose Sharks (22-27-6), 10:30 p.m.
(Sports Network) - The San Jose Sharks try to stay hot tonight, as they
battle the Los Angeles Kings at HP Pavilion.
The Sharks have won two of three and seven of their last nine contests and
were last in action on Saturday when they posted an overtime win over the
Patrick Marleau scored with nine seconds remaining in overtime as San Jose
rallied for the 4-3 victory over Los Angeles at the Staples Center.
Marleau assisted on two other Shark goals, including Joe Thornton's tally with
28.2 seconds left in regulation which sent the game into extra minutes.
Grant Stevenson also finished with a goal and two helpers for San Jose, which
rebounded from Thursday's 3-2 shootout defeat to Edmonton.
Mathieu Garon made 29 saves while Joe Corvo had a goal and an assist in the
loss, the Kings' third in four outings.
The Kings played again Monday evening in Anaheim and earned a shootout victory
over the Ducks. Corvo snuck a backhand past Jean-Sebastien Giguere in the
fifth round of the shootout to lift the LA to the 3-2 win at the Staples
Alexander Frolov and Luc Robitaille lit the lamp in regulation for the Kings,
who have won two of their last three games. Garon made 33 saves for Los
Kings forward Dustin Brown saw his career-high point streak halted at five
San Jose has won three of four meetings with the Kings this season. LA has
dropped seven straight at the Shark Tank.
