Vancouver Canucks (28-16-5) at Columbus Blue Jackets (17-30-2), 7 p.m.
(Sports Network) - The Vancouver Canucks go on the rebound tonight when they
visit the Columbus Blue Jackets at Nationwide Arena.
Vancouver had a four-game winning streak ended in Monday's 4-0 loss to hapless
St. Louis. Curtis Sanford stopped 34 shots for his third shutout of the season
to anchor the Blues' effort.
Goaltender Maxime Ouellet stopped 19-of-22 shots for the Canucks, who were
shut out for the fourth time this season.
With 61 points, the Canucks are second in the Northwest Division -- two behind
the first-place Calgary Flames.
Vancouver, which is 10-13-2 on the road, began a seven-game road trip Monday
and will visit Detroit on Thursday.
Columbus, meanwhile, has lost two of its last three games. On Saturday the
Jackets dropped a 7-2 tilt in Nashville. Paul Kariya and Scott Hartnell each
scored two goals and added an assist to lift the Predators.
Trevor Letowski and Bryan Berard scored for the Blue Jackets, while Pascal
Leclaire received the start in net and allowed seven goals on 48 shots in
defeat.
Leclaire has been peppered this month, having faced a whopping 218 shots in
his last five games.
The Jackets will host Minnesota on Friday.
Vancouver defeated Columbus, 5-3, on November 4 at GM Place and has won three
of the last four meetings.
