(Sports Network) - The Mighty Ducks of Anaheim try to nail down their third straight victory tonight when they travel across town to battle the Los Angeles Kings at the Staples Center.

The Ducks last played on Saturday and squeezed out a 1-0 victory over the Florida Panthers. Jean-Sebastien Giguere made 30 saves to notch his first shutout of the season in the win at the Pond.

Chris Kunitz scored the game's only goal 29 seconds into the first period and Giguere did the rest on the way to his 20th career blanking for the Ducks.

Teemu Selanne notched his 20th assist of the season for Anaheim. Selanne leads the Ducks with 40 points this season.

Meanwhile, the Kings are closing out a four-game homestand tonight. They last played on Saturday and were on the wrong end of an overtime decision. Patrick Marleau scored with nine seconds remaining in the extra session to give the San Jose Sharks a 4-3 win.

Mathieu Garon made 29 saves while Joe Corvo had a goal and an assist in the loss, the Kings' third in four outings.

Kings forward Dustin Brown notched an assist to extend his career-high point streak to five games. Brown has three goals and three assists during the stretch.

With 61 points, the Kings are just one behind Dallas for first place in the Pacific Division. The Stars are also in action tonight with a home test against the Phoenix Coyotes.

The Ducks are just 6-10-5 on the road this season, while the Kings are 16-7-1 at home.

The Kings have two of three meetings with Anaheim this season, but the Ducks won the last encounter on January 9. The Ducks have dropped four in a row in Los Angeles.
