St. Louis Blues (7-20-4) at San Jose Sharks (15-14-4), 10:30 p.m.
(Sports Network) - The San Jose Sharks will try to get back on the winning
track this evening, as they welcome the St. Louis Blues to HP Pavilion.
The Sharks dropped a 2-1 decision in Phoenix on Thursday night. Mike Comrie
recorded the go-ahead goal early in the third period and Curtis Joseph made 20
saves to lift the Coyotes.
Patrick Marleau netted the lone goal for San Jose, which had won six straight
before dropping two of its last three contests.
Sharks center Joe Thornton had a 14-game point streak come to an end and
failed to reach the scoresheet for the first time since being acquired from
Boston on November 30.
Evgeni Nabokov finished with 24 saves.
The Sharks are 9-3-2 at home this season.
The Blues are coming off Wednesday's loss in Anaheim. Andy McDonald scored two
goals and added an assist, as the Mighty Ducks earned a 6-3 victory at the
Dean McAmmond had a goal and an assist to lead the Blues, who have dropped
three of their last four.
Simon Gamache finished with a pair of assists, while Jason Bacashihua and
Reinhard Divis combined to make 30 saves.
Tonight marks the end of a three-game road trip for the Blues, who are just
3-9-2 as the visiting team this season.
San Jose has won three straight in the series with the Blues, including a 7-6
victory in St. Louis on October 8. St. Louis has won eight of 12 and nine of
the last 14 meetings.
The Blues are 9-2-1 (2 losses, 1 tie) in the last 12 encounters in San Jose.
