Tampa Bay Lightning (17-11-3) at Phoenix Coyotes (16-13-2), 9 p.m.
(Sports Network) - The Tampa Bay Lightning will try to start a new winning
streak tonight, as they battle the Phoenix Coyotes at Glendale Arena.
The Lightning had a five-game win streak snapped Wednesday, as the Mighty
Ducks earned a 4-2 decision at the Pond. Francois Beauchemin had a goal and
two assists to lead Anaheim.
Brad Richards and Vaclav Prospal both scored goals and John Grahame stopped 29
shots for Tampa Bay, which has still won nine of its last 11 contests.
Dan Boyle notched an assist in the setback. Boyle has seven assists during a
six-game point streak.
Tampa Bay is currently second in the Southeast Division with 37 points.
Carolina leads the division with 40 points.
The Lightning are 7-5-2 as the visiting team this year and complete a two-game
Meanwhile, Phoenix was handed a 5-2 setback by the Montreal Canadiens on
Tuesday. Tomas Plekanec tallied a goal and an assist and Jose Theodore made 27
saves to lift the Habs at the Bell Centre.
Boyd Devereaux and Mike Ricci both tallied goals and Curtis Joseph stopped 23
shots for the Coyotes, who had a three-game winning streak halted.
Mike Johnson posted an assist to extend his point scoring streak to six games.
He has five goals and five assists during the stretch.
The Coyotes are 9-5-1 at Glendale Arena this year.
Tampa Bay has won four straight and five of eight in the series against the
Coyotes. The Lightning have also taken the last two matchups at Phoenix.
