Sunday, December 11th (All times eastern)

New Jersey Devils (13-12-3) at Columbus Blue Jackets (8-20-0), 5 p.m.

(Sports Network) - The New Jersey Devils hope to avoid their fourth straight loss today when they visit the Columbus Blue Jackets at Nationwide Arena.

The skid comes on the heels of a solid 4-1 stretch by the Devs, who currently sit fourth in the Atlantic Division standings.

On Friday, New Jersey dropped a 4-3 shootout tilt against visiting Colorado. Andrew Brunette netted a pair of goals and Antti Laaksonen scored in the shootout to lift the Avalanche.

Scott Gomez had a goal and an assist for the Devils. Jay Pandolfo and Brian Gionta also scored for New Jersey and Martin Brodeur stopped 22-of-25 shots faced in the loss.

New Jersey tied the match in the third period, after Colorado had jumped out to a 3-0 advantage in the first.

The Devils, who are 5-7-1 on the road this season, will host Edmonton on Tuesday.

Columbus, meanwhile, has lost two of its last three since a rare winning streak. On Friday the Jackets dropped a 5-2 contest in Atlanta, as Ronald Petrovicky notched a hat trick to lead the Thrashers.

Jaroslav Balastik and Nikolai Zherdev notched the goals for the Blue Jackets. Goaltender Pascal Leclaire stopped 11-of-15 shots faced before being pulled in the second period. Marc Denis stopped all 15 shots he faced in relief.

The Blue Jackets, who are 5-8-0 on home ice, will host Philadelphia on Tuesday.

New Jersey has won two of the last three meetings with Columbus, and is 3-2-1 in the short all-time series.
