NHL Preview from The Sports Network

Monday, January 23rd (All times eastern)

Nashville Predators (29-12-6) at Detroit Red Wings (32-12-3), 7:30 p.m.

(Sports Network) - The Nashville Predators and Detroit Red Wings meet up at Joe Louis Arena tonight to conclude what they began on November 21.

Of course, that was the night that Red Wings defenseman Jiri Fischer collapsed on the bench due to a seizure.

This evening's game will be a full 60 minutes, but Nashville will begin ahead 1-0 -- the score when the November 21 contest was halted.

The Red Wings enter with a four-game winning streak intact. On Saturday, Robert Lang netted the tie-breaking goal late in the second period and Detroit held on for a 4-3 victory over Colorado at the Pepsi Center.

Pavel Datsyuk and Mathieu Schneider each finished with a goal and an assist in the win, the Red Wings' sixth win in seven games.

Detroit, which is 16-7-1 at home, will host the Predators again on Tuesday.

Nashville, meanwhile, has won two of its last three games. On Saturday, Paul Kariya and Scott Hartnell each scored two goals and added an assist as the Predators stormed past the Columbus Blue Jackets, 7-2, at Gaylord Entertainment Center.

Marek Zidlicky had a goal and an assist for the Predators, who won for only the second time in the last five games.

Tomas Vokoun made 27 saves in the victory.

Nashville enters the day's action with 64 points -- three behind first-place Detroit in the Central Division race.

Detroit has won four consecutive meetings with Nashville.
