NHL Preview from The Sports Network

Saturday, November 19th (All times eastern)

Buffalo Sabres (10-9-0) at Boston Bruins (7-8-5), 7 p.m.

(Sports Network) - The Buffalo Sabres seek their third consecutive win tonight when they visit the Boston Bruins at the TD Banknorth Garden.

The Sabres have defeated New Jersey and Washington during their spurt, and won three of their last four on the heels of a four-game skid.

On Thursday, Taylor Pyatt recorded the second hat trick of his career and Brian Campbell added two goals as the Sabres defeated the Capitals, 8-5, at HSBC Arena.

Ales Kotalik and Dmitri Kalinin also tallied goals and Martin Biron made 34 saves for the Sabres. Tim Connolly added a goal and two assists for Buffalo.

Pyatt potted his first three goals of the season and had recorded only one point in the previous seven games.

Buffalo will host the NY Rangers on Tuesday.

Boston, meanwhile, is 0-3-1 in its last four games. On Thursday the Bruins dropped a 4-1 contest to visiting Toronto.

Brad Isbister tallied the lone goal for Boston, while Andrew Raycroft allowed four goals on 26 shots in the losing effort.

With the contest tied 1-1 in the early stages of the third period, Boston killed off a two-man advantage but could not capitalize on the momentum. The B's watched as the Maple Leafs scored twice in a two-minute span to take control.

Boston fell to 4-4-1 at the TD Banknorth Garden, and is only 1-7-1 in games against Northeast Division opponents.

The Bruins will visit the NY Rangers on Sunday.

Buffalo is 2-0 against Boston this season, after losing five-of-six during the 2003-04 campaign.
