Columbus Blue Jackets (29-40-3) at St. Louis Blues (20-38-13), 8 p.m.

(Sports Network) - The St. Louis Blues try to halt an eight-game losing streak tonight as they host the Columbus Blue Jackets at the Savvis Center.

The Blues' latest setback came Wednesday in Chicago. Kyle Calder scored 3:49 into overtime and Nikolai Khabibulin made 44 saves to lead the Blackhawks to the 3-2 victory.

Kevin Dallman and Trent Whitfield tallied goals for the Blues, while Patrick Lalime allowed three goals on 33 shots.

St. Louis' current skid is actually the team's third-longest of the season. The Blues dropped 11 in a row from October 20-November 12 and nine straight from January 4-20.

The Blue Jackets, meanwhile, have won three consecutive games and are coming off Tuesday's home win over San Jose. Rick Nash scored two goals to lift Columbus past the Sharks, 4-1, at Nationwide Arena.

Mark Hartigan tallied his second goal of the season and Marc Denis made 28 saves for Columbus, which is in the midst of its longest win streak since taking five in a row from January 24-February 2.

Manny Malhotra notched an empty-net goal for the Blue Jackets.

The Blue Jackets and Blues have split six meetings this season. St. Louis has won four of seven and 10 of the last 14 encounters, while the Blue Jackets has dropped two straight and six of its last seven in the Gateway City.
