Thursday, March 23rd (All times eastern)

Washington Capitals (22-38-8) at Tampa Bay Lightning (36-28-5), 7:30 p.m.

(Sports Network) - The Tampa Bay Lightning continue their maneuvering for playoff positioning tonight when they welcome the Washington Capitals to the St. Pete Times Forum.

Tampa is currently sixth in the Eastern Conference with 77 points -- one ahead of seventh-place New Jersey.

The Bolts are on the rebound after having a two-game winning streak halted in Monday's 6-5 overtime loss in Florida. Olli Jokinen scored the game-winning goal with 1:44 left in OT for the Panthers.

Martin St. Louis recorded his first multi-goal game of the season by scoring twice, while Ruslan Fedotenko and Brad Richards each had a goal and an assist for the Lightning, who scored four times in the third period.

John Grahame had a tough time as he conceded five goals on 25 shots before being replaced by Gerald Coleman after the second period. Coleman turned aside 12-of-13 shots.

The Lightning will host the NY Rangers on Saturday.

Washington, meanwhile, has lost its last seven games. On Wednesday, Joe Nieuwendyk and Jozef Stumpel each had a goal and an assist to lead the Panthers to a 3-2 win over the Capitals in Sunrise.

Dainius Zubrus and Brian Willsie scored goals and Brent Johnson stopped 37 shots in the loss for the Capitals.

The Caps will visit Carolina on Saturday to begin a two-game set in Raleigh.

Washington and Tampa Bay have split six meetings this season, but the Capitals have lost in four straight trips to Tampa.
