Tampa Bay Lightning (33-25-4) at Buffalo Sabres (39-16-5), 7 p.m.
(Sports Network) - The Buffalo Sabres shoot for their fourth straight win
tonight when they welcome the Tampa Bay Lightning to HSBC Arena.
On Tuesday, Jochen Hecht scored the game-winning goal late in the second
period to lift the Sabres past the Boston Bruins, 3-2, at HSBC Arena in the
back end of a home-and-home set.
Jason Pominville and Thomas Vanek added a goal each and Ryan Miller made 25
saves for Buffalo, which has won three straight. Daniel Briere added two
assists for the Sabres.
Buffalo, with 83 points, sits four behind first-place Ottawa in the Northeast
Division standings. The Sabres are fourth in the Eastern Conference overall.
The Sabres will visit Philadelphia on Saturday.
Tampa Bay, meanwhile, ended a three-game slide on Tuesday. Vinny Prospal and
Brad Richards scored in the shootout and John Grahame stoned both shooters he
faced to lift the Lightning past the Pittsburgh Penguins, 5-4, at Mellon
Dan Boyle scored two goals and added an assist and Dimitry Afanasenkov and
Fredrik Modin added a goal each for Tampa Bay. Grahame finished with 23 saves.
The Lightning, who are seventh in the East, will visit Toronto on Saturday.
Buffalo is 3-0 against Tampa this season.
