NHL Preview from The Sports Network

Columbus Blue Jackets (23-33-2) at Colorado Avalanche (33-21-6), 9 p.m.

(Sports Network) - The Colorado Avalanche try to keep their momentum moving forward tonight when they welcome the Columbus Blue Jackets to the Pepsi Center.

On Tuesday, Milan Hejduk had a goal and an assist to lead the Avalanche to a 4-2 victory over the Minnesota Wild in the first game back from the Olympic break. Rob Blake, Brad May and Andrew Brunette all scored for the Avalanche, who have won four of their last five games. Joe Sakic added three assists in the win.

David Aebischer stopped 33 shots for Colorado, which has won four straight against Minnesota and with 72 points, trails Vancouver and Calgary by one point for first place in the Northwest Division.

The Avs will visit Dallas on Saturday to begin a four-game road trip.

Columbus, meanwhile, plays its first game back from the break this evening. The Jackets lost two straight and three of their last four matches before the hiatus.

The Blue Jackets enter today's action third in the Central Division with 48 points.

Columbus begins the post-Olympic slate with a three-game road trip. The team will visit Los Angeles on Saturday.

Colorado has won all three meetings with Columbus so far this season, and is 17-1-1 (1 loss, 1 tie) in the all-time series.

The Blue Jackets have lost in all nine of their previous trips to Denver.
