Tuesday, February 10th (All times eastern)

San Jose Sharks (26-13-11-5) at Buffalo Sabres (23-26-5-1), 7 p.m.

(Sports Network) - The Pacific Division-leading San Jose Sharks seek their third consecutive win tonight when they visit the Buffalo Sabres at HSBC Arena to open a six-game road trip.

San Jose, which leads the Pacific race by five points over Dallas, went into the All-Star break with consecutive shutout wins over Florida and Phoenix. Last Thursday, Evgeni Nabokov posted 20 saves lead the Sharks to a 5-0 home victory over the Coyotes.

Nabokov, who blanked the Panthers on Tuesday night, turned aside five shots in the first period, eight in the second and seven in the final stanza for his seventh shutout of the season and the 24th of his career.

Marco Sturm and Alexander Korolyuk both posted a goal and an assist for the Sharks, who have won eight of their last 11 games. Alyn McCauley, Scott Hannan and Patrick Marleau also scored, while Nils Ekman added three assists for the Sharks.

The Sharks, who are a mere 1-5-1 on Tuesdays this season, will visit Detroit on Wednesday in a key Western Conference clash.

Buffalo, meanwhile, had a four-game winning streak halted via Thursday's 6-2 pounding at the hands of visiting Boston. The Bruins Glen Murray scored for the sixth straight game to lead his club.

Andy Delmore scored his first goal as a Sabre, but Martin Biron had a disastrous night in net for Buffalo, which sits last in the Northeast Division with 52 points. Biron stopped just 12 of the 16 shots he faced before giving way to Mika Noronen between the second and third periods.

Noronen didn't fare much better, giving up two goals on five shots in the third.

Biron is just 1-9-3 when his team posts two scores or less.

The Sabres, who lost for just the second time in their last 11 home games (7-2-2), will host Los Angeles on Friday.

In the last 18 meetings between Buffalo and San Jose, the home club is 14-0-4.
