Atlanta Thrashers (19-18-3-2) at San Jose Sharks (17-10-11-4), 4 p.m.

(Sports Network) - The Atlanta Thrashers try to halt a five-game losing streak tonight when they enter HP Pavilion to face the San Jose Sharks.

The Thrashers were dealt their latest loss on Thursday night in Dallas. Jason Arnott recorded the primary assists on both Dallas goals to lead the Stars to a 2-1 victory.

Ronald Petrovicky scored the lone goal for the Thrashers, who are 0-4-0-1 in their last five tilts. Pasi Nurminen stopped 24-of-26 shots in the contest.

Atlanta remained pointless in eight all-time meetings against the Stars (0-8-0). The Thrashers are 7-10-1-2 on the road and lost for the first time against the Pacific Division (3-1-1)

Atlanta, which leads the Southeast Division with 43 points, plays the fourth test of a five-game road trip tonight.

The Sharks are coming off a 3-2 setback to Columbus on Thursday night. Rick Nash scored with three seconds remaining in overtime to lift the Blue Jackets to the thrilling victory at the Shark Tank.

Scott Thornton accounted for both San Jose goals, including one with under a minute to play that sent the game into overtime. Thornton has three goals in his last two contests.

Evgeni Nabokov allowed three goals on 25 shots for the Sharks, who have earned at least a point in nine of their last 10 games (7-1-1-1).

San Jose, 7-4-7-1 at home this season, continues with the second contest of a four-game homestand tonight.

The Sharks have just one loss in seven all-time matchups with the Thrashers (4-1-2), but Atlanta is 1-0-1 in the previous two meetings. The Thrashers are 0-2-1 all-time in San Jose.
