Montreal Canadiens (17-15-4-2) at Dallas Stars (17-16-5-0), 8:30 p.m.
(Sports Network) - The Dallas Stars try to stretch their unbeaten streak to
six games tonight when they welcome the Montreal Canadiens to the
AmericanAirlines Center.
Sergei Zubov and Pierre Turgeon both scored power-play goals to rally the
Dallas Stars to a 2-2 tie with Philadelphia at home on Monday.
Marty Turco made 26 saves in net for the Stars, including 13 in the third
period and two in overtime as Dallas moved to 4-0-1 in its last five games
(4-0-1).
Turco is starting to regain his stellar form from last season and is 5-1-1
with a 1.42 goals against average in his last seven starts.
The Stars have climbed to the third spot in the Pacific Division and trail San
Jose by just three points for first place.
Dallas, 6-1-3, in its last 10 games at the AAC, completes a three-game
homestand Friday versus Phoenix.
Andrei Markov and Pierre Dagenais both scored in the first period to lead
Montreal to a 2-1 win over Atlanta at Philips Arena on Monday.
Jose Theodore made 26 saves for the Canadiens, who won for the second time in
five games (2-2-0-1) and improved to 6-1-2 all-time in Atlanta. Patrice
Brisebois notched two assists in the victory.
Theodore has been solid lately, compiling a 2-1 record and a 1.33 goals
against average in his last three starts. Saku Koivu added an assist for the
Habs and has four goals and seven assists over the last 10 games.
Montreal completes a four-game road trip tonight before staring a four-match
homestand against Atlanta on Saturday.
Dallas is unbeaten in the last seven meetings overall (5-0-2) and has won
three straight home matchups against the Habs.
