Calgary Flames (5-6-0-1) at Columbus Blue Jackets (4-7-0-1), 4:30 p.m.

(Sports Network) - After halting a seven-game losing streak on Friday, the Columbus Blue Jackets try to win their second straight this afternoon when they welcome the Calgary Flames to Nationwide Arena.

David Vyborny notched his first career hat trick and Marc Denis stopped 12 shots to lead Columbus to a 4-2 home win over Atlanta two nights ago.

Geoff Sanderson also scored for the Blue Jackets, who were 0-6-0-1 during their skid. Columbus hadn't played since a 3-0 loss to Calgary last Saturday.

The Blue Jackets, who tied a franchise record by allowing a team-low 14 shots on goal, went ahead 2-0 on scores 56 seconds apart midway through the first period. Vyborny opened the scoring at 11:37 on a short backhander. At 12:33, Sanderson sent a slapshot past Byron Dafoe from the left circle.

Columbus, which improved to 4-2-0 at home, will visit Montreal on Tuesday. A Jackets' win today would mark their first winning streak since a three-game run from October 11-16.

Calgary, meanwhile, has lost two-in-a-row and is 1-3-0-1 in the last five. Dwayne Roloson stopped 34 shots for his first shutout of the season and Pascal Dupuis tallied a goal and an assist, as the Minnesota Wild blanked the Flames, 3-0, at the Saddledome Friday.

Calgary was shut out for the second straight game, and third time overall this season. They fell 3-0 to visiting Detroit on Tuesday.

Jamie McLennan turned aside 17 shots for the Flames, who have been held without a goal for 122 minutes and 19 seconds. The club record for consecutive time without a goal is 182:42, which was set last November.

Calgary, which has scored an NHL-low 21 goals in 12 games, opens a four-game road trip today. Darryl Sutter's club will visit Chicago on Wednesday.

The Flames have won two of the last three meetings, but are 1-5 all-time at Nationwide Arena.
