(Sports Network) - The Anaheim Ducks will make a stop in Phoenix tonight for a Pacific Division showdown with the Coyotes at Jobing.com Arena.
Anaheim enters this contest having won its second straight game after a 2-1 victory over Chicago on Friday. Corey Perry netted his team-leading 21st goal and added an assist in the victory.
Chris Kunitz also scored and Jonas Hiller made 20 saves for the Ducks, who have won six of their last eight games and have earned at least one point in seven of their last nine games (6-2-1) since defenseman Scott Niedermayer returned and the club acquired Doug Weight from St. Louis.
Ryan Getzlaf assisted on Perry's goal to extend his point streak to six games. Getzlaf has two goals and five helpers over his run.
Anaheim is in third place in the division, three points back of co-leaders Dallas and San Jose.
The Ducks will return home on Monday to begin a four-game homestand and are 9-11-1 on the road this season.
The Coyotes trail the Ducks by six points in the Pacific Division and have won their last three games. Phoenix extended its winning run on Thursday with a 4-2 victory over Chicago.
Mikael Tellqvist was solid with 25 saves and Radim Vrbata recorded a goal and an assist. For Vrbata, it was his team-leading 18th of the season.
Martin Hanzal and Craig Weller also scored for Phoenix, which improved to 7-2-1 in its last 10 games overall. Fredrik Sjostrom added an empty-net goal in the win.
Shane Doan missed the game with a hand injury and is probable for tonight's test.
Phoenix's win on Thursday was just its second in the past six home games. The Coyotes are 7-10-1 as the host this season but begin a four-game road trip in Calgary on Tuesday.
The Coyotes have won three of four against the Ducks so far this year, with all three wins coming at Anaheim. However, the Ducks have won 12 of the last 17 in the series overall, as well as two of three and six of the last eight in Phoenix.
