Vancouver Canucks (35-25-10) at Phoenix Coyotes (35-30-5), 10 p.m.
(Sports Network) - The Vancouver Canucks will try to get back in the win column tonight, when they visit the Phoenix Coyotes for a battle at Jobing.com Arena.
The Canucks had a three-game winning streak halted Wednesday night in Anaheim. Vancouver missed an opportunity to draw even for the Northeast Division lead, but is still only two points out of the top spot.
Calgary and Colorado are tied for first place in the Northeast with 82 points apiece and Minnesota is third with 81 points. The Canucks are also holding onto the eighth and final playoff seed in the West with 80 points.
Travis Moen registered a goal and an assist as the Ducks breezed to a 4-1 win over the Canucks at the Honda Center.
Mason Raymond lit the lamp for the Canucks and Roberto Luongo allowed four goals on 19 shots before he was lifted in favor of Curtis Sanford, who finished the game with 12 saves.
Vancouver is 16-14-5 as the visiting team this year and has dropped three of its last four on the road.
The Coyotes ended a two-game losing streak Tuesday with a victory over visiting Anaheim. Radim Vrbata scored the lone goal of the shootout as Phoenix downed the Ducks, 3-2.
In the second round of the shootout, Vrbata skated in on net and lifted a backhander into the left corner. Chris Pronger had the last chance for Anaheim, but his slap shot went over the right side of the net as the Coyotes held on for the win.
Shane Doan and Keith Yandle each had a goal for the Coyotes, who had dropped three of four coming in. Ilya Bryzgalov stopped 35 shots in the win.
Tonight marks the fourth of five straight games at home for Phoenix, which is just 15-17-3 as the hosts this season. The Coyotes have dropped five of their last seven at Jobing.com Arena.
Vancouver and the Coyotes have split a pair of meetings this year, with both teams winning on the opposition's ice. The Canucks have taken five of the last seven overall encounters in the series and have also taken three of their last four at Phoenix.
