NHL Preview from The Sports Network

Saturday, October 20th (All times eastern)

Detroit Red Wings (5-2-1) at Phoenix Coyotes (2-4-0), 10 p.m.

(Sports Network) - Henrik Zetterberg will try to extend his personal points streak tonight, as the Detroit Red Wings conclude their current road trip in Phoenix against the Coyotes at Jobing.com Arena.

Zetterberg has started the season on a nice roll, netting six goals to go along with nine assists through his club's first eight games, posting at least a point in each one of those contests.

Zetterberg had a goal and an assist on Thursday, as Detroit knocked off the San Jose Sharks, 4-2, to improve to 2-1 on its four-game road swing. Mark Ellis' first career goal put the Red Wings in front, and Pavel Datsyuk added a power-play insurance goal in the win.

Niklas Kronwall netted the other goal for Detroit, while Chris Osgood made 23 saves in the win.

The Red Wings, who play their next two games at home following tonight's contest, has a pair of players questionable for the game in Dallas Drake (head/cheekbone) and Mikael Samuelsson (groin).

Phoenix wraps a three-game homestand tonight that has produced two losses. The club kicked off the stand with a setback to Minnesota last Saturday, and then was defeated by Edmonton, 4-2, on Thursday.

Peter Mueller scored his first career goal for Phoenix, while Alexander Auld stopped 14 shots in the loss for the Coyotes, who have dropped four of their last five games.

Michael Zigomanis tied the game for the Coyotes with a goal in the third, but the club failed to hold off the Oilers.

The Red Wings have taken four straight and five of the last six meetings with the Coyotes. Detroit has also skated away with a victory in its last four trips to Phoenix.
