NHL Preview from The Sports Network

Saturday, October 28th (All times eastern)

Tampa Bay Lightning (5-4-0) at Carolina Hurricanes (4-5-2), 7 p.m.

(Sports Network) - The Tampa Bay Lightning will try for their fourth straight victory when they visit the Carolina Hurricanes tonight for the finale of a home-and-home series at the RBC Center.

The Lightning won the front end of this set with a 5-1 victory Thursday at the St. Pete Times Forum. Marty St. Louis recorded a natural hat trick in the second period to lead Tampa Bay to a dominating win.

Vincent Lecavalier and Ruslan Fedotenko also scored for the Lightning, while Marc Denis made 23 saves in the victory.

Eric Staal notched the only goal for the Hurricanes, who are 1-2-1 in their last four games following a three-game winning streak.

Carolina goaltender Cam Ward allowed four goals on 21 shots and was pulled after two periods of action. Former Lightning netminder John Grahame replaced Ward and stopped 5-of-6 shots in the final period.

The three goals by St. Louis came in a 6:17 span and set the Tampa Bay franchise record for the fastest three goals by one player. St. Louis held the previous club record of 9:43 on January 15, 2004, also against Carolina.

The Hurricanes have lost nine of their last 11 games in Tampa.

Tonight's game will be the third meeting between the Lightning and 'Canes this season. Each team has won one matchup this year after Tampa Bay took five of eight encounters during the 2005-06 campaign.

The Lightning have dropped three straight at Carolina, though, after going unbeaten (three wins, four ties) in their previous seven trips to Raleigh.
