NHL Preview from The Sports Network

Wednesday, November 30th (All times eastern)

Columbus Blue Jackets (6-18-0) at Minnesota Wild (10-10-2), 8 p.m.

(Sports Network) - The Columbus Blue Jackets hope to patch together a winning streak tonight when they visit the Minnesota Wild at Xcel Energy Center.

On Saturday, Aaron Johnson broke a third period tie with his first goal of the season to give the Blue Jackets a 4-3 victory over the St. Louis Blues at the Savvis Center.

Manny Malhotra had a goal and two assists and Luke Richardson and Gilbert Brule scored goals for the Blue Jackets, who stopped a seven-game losing streak. Goaltender Martin Prusek made 31 saves in the victory.

Sergei Fedorov did not factor into the scoring and has tallied only two assists in six games since being acquired from Anaheim. Tonight Fedorov will become the first Russian-born player to skate in 1,000 NHL games.

The Blue Jackets' only winning streak of the season came on October 26-28 with victories over Nashville and Minnesota.

Columbus will visit St. Louis on Thursday.

Minnesota, meanwhile, has won two of its last three games. On Friday, Pierre- Marc Bouchard scored a pair of third period goals to lift the Wild past the Blues, 5-3, at Xcel Energy Center.

Kurtis Foster scored a goal and an assist and Mikko Koivu dished out a pair of helpers for Minnesota.

Marian Gaborik scored his 100th career goal in the win, while goaltender Manny Fernandez came up with 29 saves.

The Wild will open a five-game road trip on Thursday in Nashville.

Minny and Columbus have split two meetings this season, with each team winning in its own rink.
