(Sports Network) - A pair of teams that have struggled all season long get together this evening, as the St. Louis Blues host the Columbus Blue Jackets at the Savvis Center.
The Blues have just 11 points this season and are fourth in the Central Division. Columbus is in the basement and is just one point behind. The teams have the two lowest point totals in the NHL this season.
St. Louis was handed a 5-3 loss Friday afternoon in Minnesota. Pierre-Marc Bouchard scored a pair of third-period goals to lift the Wild at the Xcel Energy Center.
Dean McAmmond netted two goals for the Blues, who have dropped two straight and 13 of their last 15.
Keith Tkachuk, who has missed most of the season with cracked ribs, scored his first goal of the season for St. Louis. Curtis Sanford allowed five goals on 29 shots in defeat.
The Blue Jackets, meanwhile, were handed their seventh straight setback on Friday. David Aebischer made 35 saves for his first shutout of the season and Marek Svatos had a goal and two assists to lead the Colorado Avalanche to a 5-0 win at Nationwide Arena.
Pascal Leclaire made 27 saves and Sergei Fedorov had six shots but has yet to score a goal for the Blue Jackets, who have lost 11 of their last 12 games.
This season, the Blue Jackets and Blues have split a pair of meetings -- both of which took place in Columbus. St. Louis has won two of three and eight of the last 10 meetings and has also taken four straight clashes at home.
