Ottawa Senators (16-3-0) at New York Islanders (11-10-1), 2 p.m.
(Sports Network) - The Ottawa Senators shoot for their fourth consecutive win today when they visit the New York Islanders at Nassau Coliseum.
The Sens have won eight of their first nine games this month, including Tuesday's 5-3 victory at Carolina. Jason Spezza scored the go-ahead goal early in the third period, and Mike Fisher had a goal and two assists to lead the effort.
Dominik Hasek made 27 saves, while Wade Redden, Christoph Schubert, and Peter Schaefer also scored for the Senators.
Ottawa's Dany Heatley posted an assist on Wednesday to extend his season- opening point streak to 19 games. Heatley has 15 goals and 18 assists so far this season.
The Senators, who are 7-1-0 on the road, will host Boston on Saturday.
New York, meanwhile, has lost two of its last three games. On Wednesday the Isles dropped a 4-3 shootout tilt to visiting Buffalo. Ales Kotalik scored the game-tying goal late in the third period before he and Tim Connolly converted their shots in the shootout to lift the Sabres.
Mike York had a goal and an assist and Brent Sopel and Jason Blake both notched goals for the Islanders, who had won three in a row before their current slump. Rick DiPietro stopped 25 shots in defeat.
The Islanders, who are 5-3-1 at home, will visit Philadelphia on Saturday to begin a home-and-home.
Ottawa pounded New York, 6-0, on November 5 at the Corel Centre, and is 2-1-1 in the last four meetings.
