NHL Preview from The Sports Network

Friday, November 18th (All times eastern)

Columbus Blue Jackets (5-14-0) at Dallas Stars (12-6-1), 8:30 p.m.

(Sports Network) - Sergei Fedorov hopes his second game with the Columbus Blue Jackets goes better than the first tonight when his new team visit the Dallas Stars at the American Airlines Center.

Fedorov, who was obtained from Anaheim on Tuesday, debuted with the Jackets on Wednesday and they went on to drop a 2-0 contest to the lowly St. Louis Blues. Columbus dropped its third consecutive game and has been outscored, 13-3, during the skid.

Fedorov, who has been sidelined for most of this season due to a groin injury, played well overall in more than 22 minutes of ice time, but couldn't score on his three shots.

Marc Denis made 14 saves on 16 chances for the Blue Jackets, who have dropped seven of their last eight contests overall.

Columbus, which is 1-8-0 on the road, will visit Phoenix on Sunday.

Dallas, meanwhile, has won its last three games. On Wednesday, Jason Arnott recorded his sixth career hat trick to lead the Stars to a 4-2 victory over the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim at the Arrowhead Pond.

Jere Lehtinen scored the other goal and Brenden Morrow had three assists for the Stars, who have won six of their last seven overall

Marty Turco made 30 saves for Dallas, which also beat Anaheim at the Pond on Sunday, 3-1.

Arnott has six goals and four assists in eight games this month and leads the team with 20 points this season (8g, 12a). Lehtinen, meanwhile, has tallied the game-winner in each of the last two tilts.

Dallas begins a three-game homestand tonight and will host Anaheim on Wednesday.

The Stars have won seven consecutive meetings against the Blue Jackets, and taken 13 of the last 14 overall.

Columbus has lost in all eight of their trips to Dallas.
