Columbus Blue Jackets (23-32-2) at Nashville Predators (33-18-6), 8 p.m.

(Sports Network) - The Nashville Predators try to end a three-game slide tonight when they welcome the Columbus Blue Jackets to Gaylord Entertainment Center.

The Preds have lost their last two tilts to Detroit by a combined score of 9-2. On Thursday they dropped a 3-2 contest in the Music City. Mathieu Schneider scored the eventual game-winner late in the third period to lift the Red Wings.

Scott Hartnell and Paul Kariya both had goals while Tomas Vokoun turned away 42 shots for the Predators, who have lost six of their last eight games overall.

The Predators enter the day's action with 72 points -- nine behind first-place Detroit in the Central Division.

Nashville will visit Chicago on March 1 in its first game back from the Olympic break.

Columbus, meanwhile, has lost two of its last three games. On Friday the Jackets dropped a 4-1 tilt to visiting Colorado, as the Avalanche tallied three times in the third period. Marek Svatos scored twice in the final frame to spark the Avs.

Jan Hrdina scored the lone goal for the Blue Jackets, while Marc Denis allowed three goals on 26 shots in the loss.

Before losing two of their last three matches, the Jackets had won five consecutive games.

Columbus' David Vyborny had tallied one goal and five assists during a three- game point streak.

The Blue Jackets will visit Colorado on March 2 in its first game back from the upcoming break.

Nashville is 4-2 against Columbus this season.
