Colorado Avalanche (31-20-6) at Columbus Blue Jackets (23-31-2), 7 p.m.
(Sports Network) - The Colorado Avalanche try to keep their momentum moving tonight when they visit the Columbus Blue Jackets at Nationwide Arena.
Colorado has won two straight games, and 12 of its last 18 contests overall. On Thursday, David Aebischer made 33 saves to lead the Avalanche to a 2-1 victory over the Minnesota Wild at Xcel Energy Center.
Brad Richardson and Joe Sakic scored for the Avalanche, who have defeated the Oilers and Wild on the heels of a two-game slide.
The Avalanche, with 68 points, sit third in the Northwest Division race -- one behind second-place Vancouver and three off the pace of the frontrunning Calgary Flames.
Colorado, which is 13-12-1 on the road, will visit Detroit on Saturday before breaking for the Olympics.
Columbus, meanwhile, has won six of its last seven games. On Wednesday, Trevor Letowski and Jason Chimera each netted two goals to lead the Blue Jackets to a 7-4 victory over the Los Angeles Kings at Nationwide Arena.
David Vyborny and Jaroslav Balastik each tallied a goal and an assist and Sergei Fedorov had the other score for the Blue Jackets.
Goaltender Marc Denis finished with 23 saves for Columbus.
Vyborny has tallied 12 points in his last seven games. He has nine goals and three assists in that time.
Columbus, which is 15-12-0 at home, will visit Nashville on Saturday to head into the Olympics.
Colorado is 2-0 against Columbus this season, and 16-1-1 (1 loss, 1 tie) in the all-time series.
The Avs have outscored the Jackets by a combined score of 77-25 in the 18 meetings.
