(Sports Network) - The Nashville Predators aim for their fourth victory in five games tonight, as they host the Phoenix Coyotes at Gaylord Entertainment Center.
The Predators' latest triumph came in a home contest against Vancouver on Tuesday. Tomas Vokoun stopped all 31 shots he faced to record his third shutout of the season and five different Predators lit the lamp in the 5-0 win.
Dan Hamhuis and Scott Hartnell each tallied a goal and an assist for the Predators, while Steve Sullivan added three assists.
The victory was Nashville's third in four games against Vancouver this season.
Vokoun, meanwhile, kept the Canucks out of the net on eight power-play opportunities to record his 15th career shutout.
Tonight is the second installment of a four-game homestand for the Predators, who are an impressive 24-6-1 in Nashville this year.
The Coyotes had dropped three in a row before posting a win in Los Angeles on Tuesday. Geoff Sanderson had a goal and two assists as Phoenix handed the Kings a 6-2 defeat at the Staples Center.
Shane Doan, Oleg Saprykin, Boyd Devereaux, Mike Ricci and Dave Scatchard all notched goals for the Coyotes.
Curtis Joseph stopped 27 shots and had an assist in the win for Phoenix, which won in Los Angeles for the first time since October 15, 2000. The team had gone 9-0-4 (four ties) during that span.
The Coyotes, who are in the midst of a five-game road trip tonight, are 14-16-1 as the visiting club this year.
Nashville won the only meeting of the season with the Coyotes and is 4-0-1 (1 tie) in the last five matchups.
