Ottawa Senators (35-12-4) at Buffalo Sabres (33-15-3), 7:30 p.m.
(Sports Network) - The Buffalo Sabres try to narrow the gap in the Northeast Division tonight when they welcome the first-place Ottawa Senators to HSBC Arena.
Ottawa leads the division race with 74 points -- five ahead of the second- place Sabres.
Buffalo has won four consecutive games. On Thursday, Jochen Hecht's goal midway through the second period proved to be the game winner as the Sabres defeated the Philadelphia Flyers, 4-2, at HSBC Arena.
Jason Pominville tallied a goal and an assist and Ryan Miller made 21 saves for Buffalo. Taylor Pyatt and Brian Campbell also notched goals for the Sabres.
The Sabres will visit Montreal on Tuesday to begin a home-and-home.
Ottawa, meanwhile, ended a two-game skid with Thursday's 7-2 pounding of host Pittsburgh. Daniel Alfredsson had two goals and an assist to lead the Senators to the rout at Mellon Arena.
Dany Heatley and Zdeno Chara both had a goal and an assist for the Senators, who rebounded from a 2-0 deficit to end their losing streak. Antoine Vermette, Mike Fisher and Anton Volchenkov each scored, while Jason Spezza provided three assists in the win.
Former Sabre Dominik Hasek made 22 saves between the pipes for Ottawa.
Ottawa will host Pittsburgh on Monday.
The Senators are 3-0 against the Sabres this season.
