Nashville Predators (35-19-6) at Edmonton Oilers (31-21-8), 4 p.m.
(Sports Network) - The Edmonton Oilers seek a winning streak today when they welcome the Nashville Predators to Rexall Place.
On Friday, Ales Hemsky scored the game-winning goal with 1:07 left in the third period to lift the host Oilers past the San Jose Sharks, 3-2.
Raffi Torres and Shawn Horcoff also scored for the Oilers, who snapped a four- game losing streak. Dick Tarnstrom added two assists as Edmonton defeated San Jose for the third time this season, having beaten the Sharks twice in a shootout earlier in the year.
Ty Conklin, in his first game since January 14, made 19 saves. His last win was on January 3, a shutout against Chicago.
Edmonton, which is eighth in the Western Conference with 70 points, leads ninth-place Anaheim by three points in the race for the final playoff spot.
The Oilers will host Dallas on Tuesday.
Nashville, meanwhile, has won two of its last three games. On Thursday, Tomas Vokoun made 41 saves as the Predators edged the Vancouver Canucks, 3-1, at the Gaylord Entertainment Center.
Greg Johnson scored the game-winning goal shorthanded in the third period for the Predators, who bounced back into the win column after Wednesday's 3-0 loss to the Chicago Blackhawks. Yanic Perreault and Mike Sillinger also scored for Nashville, which has lost three straight before winning two of the last three.
The Preds, with 76 points, are fourth in the West race -- one ahead of fifth- place Vancouver and two up on No. 6 Colorado.
Nashville opens a four-game road trip today and will visit Calgary on Tuesday.
Edmonton has taken two of the first three meetings against Nashville this season.
