NHL Game Summary - Phoenix at Nashville

(Saturday, February 2nd)

Final Score: Nashville 3, Phoenix 2 (OT)

Nashville, TN (Sports Network) - Alexander Radulov's tally with 50 seconds left in overtime propelled the Nashville Predators, who blew a two-goal lead, to a 3-2 win over the Phoenix Coyotes at the Sommet Center.

In the extra session, Ilya Bryzgalov stopped Radek Bonk's shot from the top of the right circle with the blocker, but the puck caromed off the shoulder of Radulov, banked off the goaltender's helmet and trickled across the goal line.

Martin Erat posted a goal and an assist for the Predators, who have won two straight and five of seven overall. David Legwand also tallied, while Dan Ellis stopped 35-of-37 shots to earn his 12th win of the season.

Shane Doan and Steve Reinprecht scored for the Coyotes, who have dropped two straight. Bryzgalov allowed three goals on 37 shots in defeat.

Trailing 2-1 heading into the third, Phoenix tied the game at two with 2:57 left in regulation.

Peter Mueller's shot from the right circle squeezed through the legs of Ellis and caromed off the near post. Reinprecht, driving hard to the net, pushed in the rebound on the backhand. The goal was upheld following a video review to see if the puck had indeed crossed the goal line.

It didn't take the Predators long to find the twine behind Bryzgalov, as Legwand lit the lamp at the 3:31 mark of the first.

Erat's shot from the right circle deflected off the stick of Legwand, who was perched in the slot, and the left skate of Phoenix's Nick Boynton.

Nashville extended its lead to 2-0 at 5:53 of the second when Erat snapped a wrister from the top of the right circle high and under the bar on the short side.

The Coyotes cut the deficit in half with 8:04 remaining in the stanza. Doan collected a loose puck in the high slot and fired a shot low to the glove side past a screened Ellis.

With 5:29 left in the second, Legwand and Rich Peverley were called for slashing, giving Phoenix a 5-on-3 power play for a full two minutes. However, the Coyotes failed to score with the two-man advantage.
