Glendale, AZ (Sports Network) - Joe Pavelski scored two goals and Evgeni Nabokov stopped 15 shots to record his 37th career shutout, as San Jose crushed the Phoenix Coyotes, 6-0, at Jobing.com Arena.
Steve Bernier and Patrick Rissmiller each had a goal and an assist for San Jose, which has won four in a row. Patrick Marleau recorded three assists and Christian Ehrhoff chipped in two assists.
Alexander Auld allowed three goals on 18 shots before being yanked in favor of Mikael Tellqvist, who made 12 saves for the Coyotes. Phoenix has lost three straight contests, all against the Sharks, and have been outscored 15-1 over that span.
San Jose had a 2-0 lead after the first twenty minutes of play.
Jeremy Roenick's snap shot from the middle of left circle beat Auld over the left shoulder at the 4:21 mark.
Rissmiller tallied his first goal of the season when he took a feed from Marleau and wristed a shot from the top of the left faceoff circle.
Pavelski extended San Jose's lead to 3-0 with a power-play goal at the 8:23 mark of the middle stanza. Pavelski came around from behind the net and stuffed the puck past Auld's extended right skate.
Tellqvist replaced Auld after Pavelski's goal, but he did not fare much better, yielding three goals in the third period.
Pavelski added his second power-play goal at the 2:12 mark and Devin Setoguchi scored 1:06 later to put the Sharks ahead 5-0.
Bernier capped the scoring with 6:01 remaining.
Setoguchi has scored four goals in the last three games...San Jose has won seven straight against the Coyotes...Roenick has the game-winner in each game he has scored in this season. He has five game-winning goals on the year...The Sharks improved to 8-3-2 on the road, while Phoenix falls to 2-7-0 at home...Phoenix defenseman Nick Boynton missed Thursday's game, serving his one-game suspension for instigating a fight in the final five minutes of Monday's 5-0 loss to San Jose.
