Philadelphia, PA (Sports Network) - Jaromir Jagr had two goals and an assist to help the New York Rangers to a big two points in a 6-4 win over the Philadelphia Flyers at the Wachovia Center.

Michael Nylander had three assists and Henrik Lundqvist stopped 33 shots for the Rangers, who have won six of their last seven games.

New York now has 89 points, which is good for the seventh spot in the Eastern Conference, one point behind Tampa Bay and one point ahead of Montreal. However, the Rangers have a game in hand on both Montreal and Tampa Bay.

Ben Eager had two goals and Ryan Potulny added a goal and an assist for the Flyers, who have dropped six of their last seven games.

Martin Biron started in net but was pulled after allowing five goals on 22 shots. Antero Niittymaki finished the game in net and allowed one goal on 12 shots.

The Rangers drew first blood in the contest just 3:32 in when Jagr snapped a pass from the right side to the left circle where Thomas Pock fired a wrist shot over the glove of Biron.

The Flyers, though, answered just 24 seconds later when Eager fought off a checker behind the net and from the right side jammed the puck past Lundqvist on his second attempt for his fifth goal of the season.

New York, though, scored the next two goals to take a 3-1 lead into the first intermission.

The Rangers regained the lead when Ryan Callahan fired in a rebound from the right side of the net for his third goal of the season at the 5:52 mark.

Jagr gave his team a two-goal lead when he accepted a drop pass from Nylander in the slot, stickhandled his way past two Flyer defenders and snapped a wrister from the low slot that went into the left corner of the net with 8:01 left in the first.

Philadelphia made it a 3-2 game just four minutes into the second period when Eager threw a shot on net that went off the skate of a Ranger player.

However, Jagr scored his second goal of the game just 2:15 later when a he got the puck after a Flyers turnover in the neutral zone and from the left circle wristed a shot over the right shoulder of Biron.

New York made it a 5-2 game just one minute later as Marek Malik kept a clearing attempt in at the blueline, skated to the slot and slid a pass to the left circle where Martin Straka fired a one-timer into the back of the net.

Niittymaki took over netminding duties after the goal.

The Flyers got a goal back with a power-play tally as Braydon Coburn picked up a loose puck at the top of the left circle and blasted a shot over the right shoulder of Lundqvist with 6:42 left in the second.

The Rangers, though, again answered to take a three-goal lead into the locker room as Petr Prucha completed a 2-on-1 play when his one-timer from the low slot blew past Niittymaki for a 6-3 lead with just 50 seconds left in the second.

Philadelphia scored quickly in the second period as a slap shot by Simon Gagne in the high slot was deflected past Lundqvist by Potulny to make it a 6-4 game just two minutes into the final frame.

However, Philadelphia was unable to get any more past Lundqvist.

The Rangers host the Maple Leafs on Sunday...The Flyers play in Toronto on Tuesday...New York won six of their eight games against Philadelphia this season, including all four in Philadelphia...New York went 1-for-2 on the power play while Philadelphia finished 1-for-5.
