Pominville got Buffalo on the scoreboard when his weak wrist shot from the slot beat Denis on the stick side at the 7:29 mark.
Just 36 seconds later, Roy's shot from the low right circle just squeaked in under the crossbar to make it a 2-1 game. The goal was initially waived off, but after further review it was determined to have went past the crossbar and not off it so the goal was allowed.
Pominville completed the outburst with 9:31 left in the first when he tapped in a pass from Daniel Briere for his 31st goal of the season.
Neither team scored in the middle frame with a total of 18 shots being thrown on net, 11 by Tampa Bay.
The Lightning made it a one-goal game 4:38 into the final stanza when Lecavalier threw a backhand pass from the right side that went off the stick of a Buffalo defender and into the net for his league-leading 48th goal of the season.
However, Tampa Bay, despite having a pair of power plays in the third, was unable to net the equalizer and Buffalo held on for the win.
