Nashville, TN (Sports Network) - Tomas Vokoun made 36 saves for his third shutout of the season to lead the Nashville Predators to a 3-0 victory over the Anaheim Ducks at Gaylord Entertainment Center.
Jason Arnott had a goal and an assist, and Dan Hamhuis and Steve Sullivan each scored a goal for the Predators, who stopped a two-game slide.
Jean-Sebastien Giguere made 17 saves in the loss for Anaheim, which had a two- game winning streak coming into the contest.
The Predators got on the scoreboard in the first period when a shot from the left point by Hamhuis tipped off the stick of Teemu Selanne and past Giguere just 4:52 in.
Vokoun only need to make seven saves in the opening period.
Nashville took a 2-0 lead just 56 seconds into the second period when, while on the power play, Kimmo Timonen slid a pass from the high slot to Arnott, who one-timed a shot from the left circle that beat Giguere.
Anaheim had 11 shots in the second period, but none of them made it past Vokoun.
The Ducks peppered Vokoun with 18 shots in the final period, but were unable to get any in the net.
Sullivan's power-play goal in the closing moments of the contest accounted for the final margin.
Anaheim next plays on Tuesday in San Jose...Nashville plays in Pittsburgh on Tuesday...Vokoun has 19 shutouts in his career...Nashville has won two of three against Anaheim this season...A total of 108 penalty minutes were assessed in the game...Nashville went 2-for-8 on the power play while Anaheim failed in its four chances.
