(Friday, November 10th)

Final Score: Calgary 3, Anaheim 0

Calgary, AB (Sports Network) - Miikka Kiprusoff stopped 37 shots for his second shutout of the season as Calgary did something no other team had been able to do this season, defeat Anaheim in regulation, and the Flames accomplished the task with a 3-0 win at Pengrowth Saddledome.

Tony Amonte had a goal and an assist and Matthew Lombardi and Daymond Langkow each had a goal for the Flames, who have won three straight.

Ilya Bryzgalov let up two goals on three shots and Jean-Sebastien Giguere replaced him in the second period and stopped all 14 shots he faced for Anaheim, which was 12-0-4 this year coming into the game set a new NHL record for most games to start a season without a regulation loss.

"I thought we played good enough to win the game, said Ducks winger Teemu Selanne. "The effort was there and we had lots of chances. We had a bad start to the game."

The Flames grabbed a 2-0 lead in the first period with goals separated by 19 seconds.

Jarome Iginla let fly with a slap shot from the left circle that Bryzgalov made a save on, but Langkow was right on the doorstep to bang in the rebound 6:52 into the contest.

Moments later, Amonte flew into the Anaheim zone, and from the left circle let fly with a slap shot that beat Bryzgalov for his fourth goal of the season.

"An unbelievable start, it set the tempo for the game," said Amonte.

Giguere replaced Bryzgalov to start the second period.

Both teams had nine shots in the second period, but none of them found the back of the net.

Anaheim had an opportunity to get on the scoreboard in the third when Amonte was called for hooking. The best chance came when a right point shot from Francois Beauchemin was deflected in front, but it ringed off the left post with under nine minutes to play.

The Flames sealed the win with an empty-net goal by Lombardi with 70 seconds left.
