NHL Game Summary - San Jose at Dallas

Final Score: Dallas 3, San Jose 2 (OT)

Dallas, TX (Sports Network) - Jason Arnott scored with 35.3 seconds left in overtime to lead the Dallas Stars to a 3-2 victory over the San Jose Sharks at AmericanAirlines Center.

Arnott also had an assist, Sergei Zubov added a goal and an assist and Philippe Boucher notched the other goal for the streaking Stars, who have won their past five-games.

Marty Turco, who was named NHL defensive player of the week before the game, made 14 saves in the victory for Dallas, which has won its last three contests against San Jose.

Alyn McCauley and Jonathan Cheechoo notched goals for San Jose, who have dropped their past three games. Evgeni Nabokov made 25 saves in the defeat.

Dallas was trailing after Cheechoo put San Jose ahead a little over eight minutes into the third period, but Zubov tied the game with 4:37 left to force overtime.

With time expiring in the extra five minutes, Brenden Morrow attempted a pass to Arnott but it was deflected back to him. His second attempt made it to Arnott down low on the right side, and Arnott backhanded it in for his 19th goal of the season to seal the win for the Stars.

Dallas opened the scoring six minutes into the first period. Nabokov lost his stick during a scrum in front of the net and Zubov got the puck to Boucher at the left point. Boucher sent a blast on net that went through Nabokov's five- hole for his 11th goal of the season.

The Sharks tied it early in the second period with a power-play tally. Nicholas Dimitrakos sent a slap shot from the right point that McCauley tipped in 4:15 into the second stanza.

San Jose took a 2-1 lead after Joe Thornton sent a pass from the low left circle to Cheechoo in the slot. Cheechoo snapped a wrister that went into the top left corner of the net 8:02 into the third period.

However, Dallas tied it with a power-play goal. After several chances, Bill Guerin sent a pass from the left side of the net to Zubov, who wristed it in from the right side to tie the game.

San Jose concludes its three-game road trip on Wednesday at Anaheim...The Stars wrap up their three-game homestand against the Predators on Wednesday... Thornton had his league-leading 51st assist in the game...Dallas went 2-for-7 on the power play...The Sharks connected once on their five man advantages.
