Atlanta, GA (Sports Network) - John Grahame posted 20 saves for his third shutout of the season, backstopping Tampa Bay to a 2-0 victory over Atlanta at Philips Arena.
Fredrik Modin and Vincent Lecavalier both scored and Darryl Sydor assisted on each goal for the Lightning, winners of three straight and four of their last five games.
Grahame has 10 shutouts in his career and blanked the Thrashers for the second time this season. Tampa Bay posted a 6-0 victory over Atlanta on October 20, 2005.
"Our main goal down the stretch here is to have that consistency," Grahame said. "Everybody played well and intense."
Kari Lehtonen stopped 22 of 24 shots in the loss for Atlanta, which has dropped two in a row after a five-game winning streak.
Tampa Bay scored first on Modin's power-play tally with 1:51 remaining in the first period. Brad Richards ripped a shot from the right circle that deflected off of Modin and through Lehtonen's legs.
Lecavalier lit the lamp with Tampa Bay on the power play with 7:27 remaining in the third period to make it 2-0. He beat the goaltender with a backhander for his 20th goal of the season.
"They were pretty good with their forechecking," Lehtonen said. "We weren't able to score on the other end. Their goalie did really well."
The Thrashers pulled Lehtonen late in the third period, but couldn't produce anything offensively.
Modin has 19 goals this season...It was the fourth time Atlanta was blanked this season...The Thrashers had won four in a row at home before Saturday's game...Tampa Bay has won five of the last eight meetings with Atlanta.
