Dallas, TX (Sports Network) - Marty Turco stopped all 17 shots he faced, as the Dallas Stars blanked St. Louis, 3-0, at American Airlines Center.
Bill Guerin, Sergei Zubov and Jere Lehtinen each scored goals for Dallas, which has won two of its last three games. Mike Modano and Jussi Jokinen added two assists apiece.
Goaltender Jason Bacashihua stopped 22 of the 25 shots he faced for the Blues, who have lost three of their last five and have the worst record in the NHL.
All three of Dallas' goals came on the man advantage.
Guerin scored midway through the first period to put Dallas on top, 1-0. The right winger received a pass from Jason Arnott behind the goal line, moved into the left slot and then fired a bad-angle shot that beat Bacashihua at the 10:12 mark.
The Stars added two more tallies in the second period to build a comfortable 3-0 lead.
With just over four minutes remaining in the stanza, Modano feathered a pass into the left circle for Zubov, who one-timed it home to make it a two-goal Dallas advantage.
Lehtinen followed with a goal 41 seconds later, whipping a cross-crease feed from Jokinen past a sliding Bacashihua and into the back of the net.
St. Louis had five power-play chances in the third period alone, but were unable to solve Turco and the Dallas defense.
Martin Skoula's helper on the Guerin goal gave him 100 assists for his career...Guerin recorded his first power play goal of season...The Blues managed just two shots in the first period, and only five more in the second...Dallas went 3-for-10 on the power play, while St. Louis was 0- for-6...Dallas also beat St. Louis on Monday, 6-1.
