Columbus, OH (Sports Network) - Jason Chimera scored the game's only goal and Marc Denis made 40 saves for his first shutout of the season, leading Columbus to a 1-0 win over Anaheim at Nationwide Arena.
Denis recorded his 15th career shutout and first since the 2003-04 season for the Blue Jackets, who have won two straight.
Jean-Sebastien Giguere was peppered with 42 shots and allowed a fluke goal with 3:07 remaining in the game that decided the contest.
The Mighty Ducks have lost three of their last five games.
Chimera tried stuffing a wrap-around past Giguere, and Mighty Ducks forward Teemu Selanne tried clearing the puck but it went into the net.
Andy McDonald had a chance to open the scoring for Anaheim early in the third period. He skated in on Denis and his backhand shot was deflected.
The Blue Jackets finished 0-for-10 on the power play, while Anaheim failed to score on four occasions with the extra skater...Anaheim has lost three straight in Columbus after winning its previous two there.
