NHL Game Summary - Minnesota at Nashville

Nashville, TN (Sports Network) - Jerred Smithson broke a tie in the second period with his first NHL goal to propel Nashville to a 2-1 victory over the Minnesota Wild at the Gaylord Entertainment Center.
Adam Hall also scored and Greg Zanon had an assist in his first NHL contest for the Predators, who have won two in a row and four of five contests. Nashville improved to 12-2 at home this season and is 10-0-3 in one-goal decisions.
Kurtis Foster scored for the Wild, who have dropped two straight and six of eight games. Dwayne Roloson made 44 saves for Minnesota, which is winless in its last six trips to Nashville.
Smithson's goal came at 6:56 of the second period. Jeremy Stevenson's shot from above the right circle was saved by Roloson, but Smithson scored low on the rebound from the same circle.
Tomas Vokoun stopped 19 shots for the Predators, including seven in the final period to preserve the win.
Hall scored on a two-man advantage at 7:26 of the opening period. Steve Sullivan fed the puck from the left circle to Hall in the slot for the successful one-timer.
The Wild tied the game with 3:10 left in the first on Foster's power-play tally. Alexandre Daigle passed the puck from the right boards to Foster, who scored on a slap shot from above the left circle up high past Vokoun.
This was the opener of a five-game road trip for the Wild, who will also play at New Jersey, the New York Rangers, Pittsburgh and Philadelphia...This was the second of four meetings this season. The first matchup came November 19 at Xcel Energy Center when the Wild won 4-2 behind Foster's first two NHL goals...The Predators will now play five straight games versus Eastern Conference opponents, starting with the Flyers on Saturday night. Nashville's tilt against the Flyers will be the first game of the season versus an Eastern Conference foe.
