NHL Game Summary - New Jersey at Tampa Bay

Tampa, FL (Sports Network) - Alexander Mogilny and Sergei Brylin scored two goals apiece and Viktor Kozlov tallied a goal and four assists as the New Jersey Devils defeated the Tampa Bay Lightning, 8-2, at the St. Pete Times Forum.
Brian Gionta added a goal and two assists and Martin Brodeur stopped 24 shots for the Devils, who have won two straight and three of their last four. Scott Gomez and Jamie Langenbrunner also notched goals for New Jersey.
Martin St. Louis had a goal and an assist, Fredrik Modin tallied a goal and Brad Richards added two helpers for Tampa Bay, which had a season-best four- game winning streak snapped. Sean Burke stopped 11-of-17 shots before being pulled in favor of John Grahame midway through the second period.
New Jersey, which snapped a five-game losing streak to Tampa Bay, opened a 4-0 lead less than 13 minutes into the contest
Mogilny got the Devils on the scoreboard 4:05 into the game while on the power play when he beat Burke on a rebound for a 1-0 lead. New Jersey made it 2-0 after Gomez tapped a pass from Gionta into the open net at 9:52. Gionta passed the puck across the slot to an uncovered Gomez, who was camped by the far post.
Brylin extended the Devils' advantage just over a minute later after he fanned on a shot attempt in the slot before recovering to beat Burke glove-side top- shelf. Gionta made it 4-0 with 7:07 left in the period after Burke gave up a soft goal. Gionta fired a slap shot from the left circle that deflected off of Burke's glove and in.
The Lightning stopped the bleeding after Modin beat Brodeur with a one-timer from the slot to make it 4-1 with 2:51 left in the first period. St. Louis gathered a loose puck behind the Devils' net and shoveled a pass into the slot for Modin.
Burke stopped Gionta on a penalty shot less than four minutes into the second period to keep Tampa within three. But Mogilny beat Burke glove-side with a one-timer from just inside the right circle two minutes later to give the Devils a 5-1 advantage.
Tampa Bay got back within three after St. Louis jammed the puck through Brodeur's five-hole from on the doorstep to make it 5-2 with 6:51 gone in the second period.
Burke had his evening end prematurely after Kozlov gathered a loose puck along the right half-wall, skated in alone on Burke and beat him glove-side with a wrist shot from down low to make it 6-2 midway through the second period.
Grahame gave up his first goal of the evening with just over three minutes left in the second period after Brylin beat him glove-side with a shot from the slot to make it 7-2.
Langenbrunner scored his fifth of the season with 6:04 left in the game to extend the Devils' lead to 8-2.
Tampa had surrendered only 14 goals in the past six contests...The Lightning were 6-0-2 in their last eight meetings against New Jersey. Tampa Bay's last loss to the Devils came on Nov. 26, 2002, a 5-1 setback... Richards' two assists extended his point streak to nine games. He has three goals and eight assists during the stretch...Friday's game began a six-game homestand for the Lightning, who are 5-5-1 in Tampa this season...The Devils won for the fifth time in their last seven games. New Jersey, which completed a three-game road trip, is 5-5-1 as the visiting team this year.
