(Monday, January 9th)

Final Score: Dallas 2, Minnesota 1

St. Paul, MN (Sports Network) - Philippe Boucher got credit for the game- winning tally after a carom off the boards found its way into the net as the Dallas Stars defeated the Minnesota Wild, 2-1, at the Xcel Energy Center.

Jere Lehtinen notched his 23rd goal of the season and Johan Hedberg made 25 saves for Dallas, which has won four straight. Sergei Zubov registered two assists for the Stars.

Randy Robitaille scored Minnesota's lone goal and Manny Fernandez stopped 24 shots for the Wild, who lost for the second time in their last three games.

Minnesota drew first blood 6:43 into the first period after Robitaille beat Hedberg for his 10th tally of the season. A shot from the blue line caromed off the back boards and out in front where Hedberg swiped at it and missed. Robitaille swooped in and batted the puck past Hedberg to give the Wild a 1-0 lead.

Dallas netted the equalizer early in the second period after Lehtinen deflected a shot from the top of the left circle past Fernandez to make it 1-1.

The Stars took their first lead of the game with 8:36 left in the second period after Boucher got credit for a lucky bounce. Boucher shot the puck in from the blue line and the puck caromed off the back boards, then off of Fernandez and into the net to make it 2-1.

"The frustrating thing tonight is the way they won," Wild center Mark Chouinard said. "It's crazy the way it happened. That's a tough loss for us."

The Wild pulled Fernandez with under a minute left in the game and put steady pressure on Hedberg, but could not get even.
