(Saturday, April 15th)

Final Score: Vancouver 4, Colorado 3 (OT)

Vancouver, BC (Sports Network) - Brendan Morrison scored with 37 seconds left in overtime to lead the Vancouver Canucks to a 4-3 victory over the Colorado Avalanche at GM Place.

Todd Bertuzzi, Markus Naslund and Anson Carter scored for the Canucks, who finished out their season by stopping a three-game losing streak.

Mika Noronen stopped 31 shots for Vancouver, which finished in fourth place in the Northwest Division with a 42-32-8 record.

Alex Tanguay netted two goals and Pierre Turgeon scored the other goal for the Avalanche, who have lost two straight and three of their last four games.

Jose Theodore stopped 26 shots in the losing effort for Colorado, which sits in the seventh spot with 95 points in the Western Conference playoff race, two points ahead of Edmonton and one behind Anaheim.

Vancouver tied the game up in the final minute of the third period and grabbed the victory in overtime. With seconds remaining in the extra frame, Colorado turned the puck over in its own zone and Morrison let fly with a slap shot from the left circle that beat Theodroe between the five-hole.

The Avalanche were trailing 2-1 going into the final 20 minutes, but scored twice to take the lead.

Brad Richardson brought the puck into the zone on a rush and from the top of the right circle snapped a shot between a defender's legs that Noronen made a pad save on. But, the rebound went out front and hit off the skate of Turgeon to tie the game up 8:22 into the third.

Tanguay's second goal of the game on a scrum in front of the net gave Colorado a 3-2 lead with 2:06 left in regulation.

However, Vancouver tied the game back up when Carter's wraparound from the left side of the net squeezed in with 43 seconds left in regulation.

Colorado got on the board first in the closing seconds of the first period. Joe Sakic had the puck at the right point and let fly with a wrister that was tipped into the net by Tanguay with 14 seconds left.

The Canucks, though, scored twice in the second period to take a 2-1 lead into the third period.

Ryan Kesler brought the disc into the Colorado end and from the low right side and sent it to the left circle where Bertuzzi one-timed it past Theodore to tie the game up 2:13 in.

Naslund gave his squad the 2-1 lead when, while on the rush, he snapped a wrist shot from the right circle that beat Theodore on the short side with 6:14 left in the second.
