NHL Game Summary - Minnesota at Nashville

Nashville, TN (Sports Network) - Mike Sillinger scored two goals as the Nashville Predators defeated the Minnesota Wild, 4-2, at the Gaylord Entertainment Center.

Dan Hamhuis and Shea Weber tallied a goal and an assist and Chris Mason made 27 saves for Nashville, which has won four straight games. The win secured the fourth seed and home-ice advantage in the first round of the Western Conference playoffs for the Predators.

Brian Rolston and Wes Walz scored a goal apiece and Josh Harding stopped 26 shots for Minnesota, which had a two-game winning streak snapped. The Wild, who are eliminated from postseason play, will finish their season on Saturday afternoon in Dallas.

Nashville drew first blood with less than three minutes left in the first period while on the power play after Hamhuis beat Harding for his seventh goal of the season and a 1-0 lead.

Minnesota netted the equalizer 28 seconds into the middle frame while on the man advantage after Rolston beat Mason off a feed from Pierre-Marc Bouchard for his 34th goal of the season to make it 1-1.

The Predators regained the lead less than four minutes later after Sillinger tallied his 30th goal of the season. Sillinger one-timed a loose puck below the left circle that caromed off of Harding's left skate and through the five hole for a 2-1 lead.

Nashville increased its lead with 6:34 left in the second stanza while on the power play when Weber beat Harding top shelf with a wrister from the left circle to make it 3-1.

Sillinger struck again just 1:51 into the third period after he beat Harding off a pass from Weber for a 4-1 advantage.

Minnesota cut its deficit in half 9:13 into the third period as Walz beat Mason stick side top shelf with a one-timer from the slot to make it 4-2, but the Wild didn't get any closer.

Game Notes

The Predators have lost only once at home to the Wild in 10 all-time meetings, recording seven wins and two ties...The Predators improved to 30-8-1 at home this season...Mason played in his second game since the Predators announced that top goaltender Tomas Vokoun would miss the rest of the season because of blood clots...Bouchard's assist was his 42nd of the season, while teammate Erik Westrum recorded his first assist of the year.
