NHL Game Summary - Boston at Buffalo

Buffalo, NY (Sports Network) - Thomas Vanek had two goals and an assist as the Buffalo Sabres continued their domination of the Boston Bruins in a 6-2 win at HSBC Arena.
Maxim Afinogenov and Ales Kotalik each had a goal and two assists and Tim Connolly added a goal and an assist for the Sabres, who have won their last six games.
Martin Biron stopped 37 shots in the win for Buffalo, which has defeated Boston in all six contests this season.
Andrew Alberts and Brad Boyes notched goals for the slumping Bruins, who have lost five straight and eight of their last nine games. Andrew Raycroft was torched for six goals on 30 shots.
The Sabres drew first blood in the game with a power-play goal. Derek Roy brought the puck into the Bruins zone on a rush and from the right circle fed a pass to the low left circle, where Vanek immediately sent the disc back to Roy, who finished the give-and-go 9:11 into the first period.
Afinogenov was awarded a penalty shot with 5:40 left in the first period when he was hauled down on a breakaway by Hal Gill. Afinogenov snapped a wrister over Raycroft's right pad to give Buffalo a 2-0 lead going into the first intermission.
The Sabres netted a 3-0 advantage 8:27 into the second period. Connolly had the puck along the right boards and sent a centering pass to Kotalik, who one-timed it into the net for his 23rd goal of the season.
Buffalo scored on a 5-on-3 later in the period to net a 4-0 advantage. Afinogenov had the disc low in the right corner and sent it to Connolly at the top of the right circle. Connolly fired a one-timer through a screen for his 10th goal of the season with 5:33 left.
The Bruins finally got on the board with a shorthanded tally just 29 seconds later. Glen Murray brought the puck out of his end all the way down the ice and from the top of the right circle fed the disc to Alberts at the top of the left circle. Alberts skated to the front of the net and roofed it over Biron for his first career NHL goal.
The Bruins made a game of it when they made it 4-2 early in the third period. Patrice Bergeron hustled into the Buffalo zone to beat out an icing and got the puck to Marco Sturm along the left boards. Sturm centered the puck to Boyes, who redirected it into the net just 33 seconds in.
Buffalo, though, regained its three-goal edge about halfway through the period on a power-play goal. Kotalik had the puck at the top of the right circle and sent it to the top of the left circle, where Vanek one-timed it into the net.
Vanek netted his second goal of the game when he brought the puck down the left boards, cut into the goalmouth and slid it behind the outstretched left pad of Raycroft with 1:35 left for the final goal of the game.
Raycroft has allowed goals on all four penalty shots he has faced...Boston travels to Toronto for a game on Tuesday...The Sabres wrap up their three-game road trip at Washington on Tuesday...Buffalo has scored 20 goals in its last three games...Buffalo scored three times on its six power plays...The Bruins were held scoreless in their three man advantages.
