NHL Game Summary - Buffalo at Boston

Boston, MA (Sports Network) - Jochen Hecht and Daniel Briere registered a goal and two assists each as the Buffalo Sabres defeated the Boston Bruins, 3-2, at the TD Banknorth Garden in the start of a home-and-home series.
Jean-Pierre Dumont tallied his 11th goal of the season and Martin Biron made 40 saves for Buffalo, which has won two straight after a two-game skid.
Marco Sturm and Glen Murray scored a goal apiece and Andrew Raycroft stopped 22 shots for Boston, which has lost four of its last five games.
Boston drew first blood 3:41 into the opening frame while on the power play after Sturm tapped a rebound over Biron's left pad for a 1-0 lead.
The Bruins extended their lead less than four minutes later after Murray one- timed a shot from the slot past Biron to make it 2-1.
Buffalo, however, scored the next three goals to take its first lead of the game.
The Sabres got on the scoreboard with 3:48 left in the first period after Hecht chipped a pass from Briere just inside the post past Raycroft to pull within one.
Buffalo netted the equalizer 6:39 into the middle frame after Briere beat Raycroft glove side from below the right circle to make it 2-2.
The Sabres went ahead with 4:58 left in the second period after Dumont beat Raycroft with a one-timer from inside the right circle for a 3-2 lead.
Boston pulled Raycroft with just over a minute remaining for an extra attacker but could not generate any scoring chances against Biron.
Buffalo is 4-0-2 in its last five meetings against Boston, including a 4-0-0 mark this season...Buffalo forward Maxim Afinogenov had his six-game point streak snapped...Boston outshot Buffalo 20-5 in the third period and 42-25 for the game...Buffalo went 0-for-4 on the power play, while Boston went 1-for-4.
