NHL Game Summary - Atlanta at Florida

(Saturday, March 27th)

Final Score: Atlanta 3, Florida 0

Sunrise, FL (Sports Network) - Dany Heatley scored twice and Kari Lehtonen made 30 saves for his first career shutout to lead the Atlanta Thrashers to a 3-0 victory over the Florida Panthers.

"That was a big thing for me," said Lehtonen, who is the backup netminder. "(Shutout) is something that you want right away, and now I get it in my third game. That's a pretty good thing. I'm just happy."

Lehtonen made 15 saves in the first period and Patrik Stefan's goal at 3:33 of the frame gave the Thrashers a 1-0 lead.

Heatley beat Florida goaltender Steve Shields on a power play early in the second period to give the Thrashers a 2-0 advantage. Heatley was alone in the right circle and scored with a blistering wrist shot just inside the near post.

Heatley gave Atlanta a 3-0 advantage with his 11th goal of the season early in the third period.

Shields finished with 16 saves for the Panthers, who have lost five straight.
