NHL Game Summary - Chicago at Nashville

(Monday, March 1st)

Final Score: Chicago 2, Nashville 2

Nashville, TN (Sports Network) - Scott Walker and Kimmo Timonen scored for Nashville and Tyler Arnason and Matt Keith countered for Chicago, as the Predators and Blackhawks skated to a 2-2 tie at the Gaylord Entertainment Center.

Tomas Vokoun made 31 saves for Nashville, which is unbeaten in its last three games (2-0-1).

Adam Munro made his NHL debut and turned aside 33 shots for Chicago, which has played to a 2-2 tie in consecutive games.

"After I got the first period under my belt, I felt pretty good," said Munro after the game.

The Blackhawks scored just three seconds into a power play to take a 1-0 lead. Arnason collected a loose puck after a faceoff in the right circle and beat Vokoun with a wrist shot at 3:59 of the first period. Nashville's Greg Johnson had just been whistled off for goaltender interference at 3:56.

After a scoreless second period, the Predators took advantage of a power play to tie the contest at 1-1 midway through the third stanza. Vladimir Orszagh had the puck for a shot from the slot after a pass from Steve Sullivan. Walker, stationed to Munro's right, was able to deflect the puck past the netminder for his 20th goal of the season at 10:55.

Timonen gave Nashville a 2-1 lead with 3:07 remaining in the third frame with each team skating with four players. Marek Zidlicky made a nice backhand pass from the left circle across the front of the net to Timonen, who one-timed a shot past Munro.

Keith fired in the rebound of a shot by Bryan Berard with Vokoun on his back to even the score at 2-2 with 1:44 left in the third period.

"You can't throw a point away like that at his point of the season," said Predators forward David Legwand.

Vokoun sprawled to make a save on a breakaway by Berard in the final minute of the third period. The Predators' netminder then made three more saves in overtime.

Munro stopped the only shot he faced in the extra session.
